Hello! My name is Parker Brown. I am a Multimedia Journalist for Dakota News Now. I formerly worked for Midwest Communications Radio and the Sioux Falls Canaries. I am a graduate of the University of Sioux Falls with a major in Media Studies (concentrations in Multimedia Broadcasting and Social Media Marketing) and a minor in Biblical Studies. I am from Elk River, MN, but I have since moved to Sioux Falls where I live with my wife, Megan. I was involved in many areas around campus at USF including leadership roles and many extracurricular activities. I am passionate about mentorship, community involvement, and living out my Christian faith. I am excited to see where opportunities will take me with a career in media.
Media- Telling Stories That Matter
Stories bring us together. Stories inspire us. Stories give us perspective. From a young age, I became fascinated with finding stories in everything. What is our recent news if not the stories of the collective human experience? I have always enjoyed getting to know people by hearing their stories. This is how I became involved in broadcast journalism in high school. This is how I ended up at the University of Sioux Falls to study and gain experience in media. I want to tell the stories that bring us together, inspire us, and connect us to the human experience. PDB Media is an outlet where I put my projects that help me tell the stories that matter.
